RANT

lovepuppy:

It is, absolutely inappropriate to tell a thin person “you could stand to gain a few pounds”.

You would never say that to someone in the reverse position. Unless I am dressed inappropriately (for, say, my job), please do not comment to me. Unless its a compliment. Those are always welcomed.

I hear that comment at least 2 times a week and it always comes from COMPLETE STRANGERS!!! On top of that I get stared down by at least 5 people per day(especially when holding a bag of fast food) and that as well is completely inappropriate. Yes, I know I am very skinny! I’ve been skinny my entire life! It is also really insulting if you do one of the following:

  • insinuate that I might have an eating disorder
  • ask me about my eating habits to make sure I am eating properly
  • tell me that I look bullimic or anorexic
  • force food on me after I’ve told you several times that I am full
  • stare at me with a look of disgust on your face.
Also, as mentioned here before, skinny jokes are just as insulting as fat jokes. People come in all shapes and sizes! So as Britney once said (hahah…I promise to never quote her ever again) “if you don’t like what you see then don’t look at me”!!
